Smoking Cessation

How many times have you tried to stop smoking? How many New Year's Resolutions have you made and broken? How many different ways have you tried? There is a major problem with most methods - you are left with a feeling of empty hands and an empty mouth. This often leads to weight gain or at least badly bitten nails. Fighting your craving for a cigarette as well as fighting 'empty hand syndrome' leads many quitters to failure. My methods are different.

First I spend a little time discussing the reasons why you smoke and what it does to you. I then plan a finely tuned mixture of hypnotherapy, NLP, CBT and EFT to give you the tools you need to become a non-smoker. Forever.

Why three sessions when other therapists claim a 100% success rate after only one session? I have spoken to many people over the years who have stopped smoking after one session. Often, the effects last for only a few months, then the urge for a cigarette becomes too strong. Sometimes the client has gained so much weight that they don't feel becoming a non-smoker was really worth it. With my three-session plan I not only help rid you of the desire to smoke, I help you to put in place non-smoking strategies which will last you for life.

SmokeFree4Life Workshops; In my four hour workshops you will get the chance to meet other smokers, to share your experiences and then help each other along the road. The treatment follows the same basic path as private sessions, with the advantage of a reduced fee and the support of like minded people as you become a non-smoker.

Weight Control

Do you know the most popular day to start a diet? Tomorrow! How many times have you decided that you will definitely start your diet tomorrow? And if you lose 3lb a week, it will take you this many weeks to be your ideal weight? And if you spend two hours in the gym twice a week, jog twice a week then do yoga, you'll be super fit. Starting tomorrow. In the meantime, let's just finish off that chocolate cake, have a last packet of crisps, maybe a final takeaway. Then what happens? You get hungry, tired, bored or stressed and go straight back to your old eating patterns.

Why does this happen? Is it because you are lazy, dumb or greedy? No! It happens because DIETS DON'T WORK! The only way to effectively control your weight is by eating a healthy diet and exercising regularly. The problem is, a healthy eating regime is easy to plan but not so easy to implement. You work hard, come home tired, perhaps via the takeaway. You have a stressful job, and convenience foods are so, well, convenient. Maybe you are at home all day, can't find a job, the baby is crying, you get bored... Does any of this sound familiar?

Every person involved in your treatment will themselves have had a weight problem in the past.

Other Addictions

No matter what your addiction, you will be treated sensitively and with compassion. Treatment usually takes between three and six sessions and the effects should last a lifetime. Please note that we will not treat alcohol or drug addictions without the support of your GP or specialist care provider.
